THE BOOKIES: WHO ARE THE BEST ?

Here is how all the categories were scored :

FOOTBALL COVERAGE

This is basically all about how many different leagues and offers are available and how early they are put online. BET365, EUROBET and GAMEBOOKERS were the clear winners here - but most of the top 10 bookmakers score well.

HORSE COVERAGE

There are five players that all scored well - but SPORTING ODDS scored best (just), with BET365, LADBROKES, and PADDYPOWER all providing plenty of horse racing options online.

OTHER SPORTS COVERAGE

It's not all about football. BET365 is strong on European Sports, PINNACLE are very big on US and Australian sports. Also GAMEBOOKERS are good general purpose bookies that always seem to have a price on an event.

If you're betting on UK sports (snooker, darts, horses) then you've got to add SPORTING ODDS to your list as well.

THE BOOKIES: WHO HAS THE BEST PRICES ?

ODDS PRICES - FIXED ODDS

Now we get into the meat of the test - never mind the fancy stuff - what about the prices?

In the last couple years I've found three sites standing out in the tradtional markets.BET365, PREMIERBET and EUROBET are not afraid to make a price on a favourite.

Other sites that are worth checking are GAMEBOOKERS, PADDYPOWER and CANBET who will often start with a good price - but they are quick to react by dropping their price if they get hit.

One bookmaker to look out for is INTERWETTEN who will often take a very good price on a strong side - and do not change the price all weekend on them. They can be the best price by 10 points or more just before kickoff.

Finally, a point to note here is that if LADBROKES are very big on a favourite - then be careful as the favourite often fails - just one thing to watch when your making your tips.

ODDS PRICES - ASIAN HANDICAP

The top ranking bookie for asian handicap bets right now is at PINNACLE SPORTS.

I opened my account after receiving promising comments from other punters - and I'm pleased I did. For me PINNACLE SPORTS are the top asian handicap book right now. Get your account NOW.

It's a growing market and BET365 and PREMIERBET also seem prepared to take on the punters in this handicap style. Recommended sites.

Other good sites are GAMEBOOKERS and LADBROKES although they often keep higher margins - which means lower prices for us.

One tricky thing about BET365 is that they take their handicap prices down overnight, but I didn't mark them down too much as they are generally available within 12 hours of kickoff.

THE BOOKIES: THE OTHER SITE FEATURES

FREE BETS

This changes on a monthly basis - so make sure that you check out the specialist FREE BETS PAGE for the latest info.

I start with PINNACLE SPORTS who are offering a 10% bonus on deposits over $250 or more. Ideal for big rollers - if you deposit an initial $5,000 you can get $500 FREE !! Great for Asian Handicap punters who like to bet BIG!

Another good site is BET365 who are offering an incentive of up to £100 to join - but they also offer good deals for existing customers - and over the last month I've personally scored two different £25 free bets just for using their site.

Don't forget EUROBET are offering you a FREE BET of 20% of your initial deposit for new accounts (up to £20).

You need to time it right when joining up to SPORTINGODDS as their best freebies are offered to get you to open and start using the account. Getting £20 (€30) when you join this lot is fairly common.

Also consider PADDY POWER who are well known for their "Money Back" specials, including paying out on any horse who "wins" a race but is subsequently disqualified - it happens more often than you think !!

SITE DESIGN

This isn't about how pretty it is - but how easy is it to get there, find the odds, and place the actual bet.

For me there was a clear winner in this category ... GAMEBOOKERS it's almost too easy - and with a good stats system online there as well they have managed to tempt me into quite a few bets I didn't initially even think about.

Their betting slip system is great with all options clearly shown and you can combo all sorts of options with "bankers" and singles easy to lay. A model system for other bookies to follow.

UK bookie SPORTINGODDS's site has also gone through a revamp - and it's a lot easier to use now - finding your bets are much easier. Well done guys.

There isn't much wrong with BET365 either - although I'd like to see a running list of selections alongside - so I can see my shortlist as I work the bets out.

I think that EUROBET's site is also good with PADDY POWER easy enough although the final betting box options are a bit weak.

THE BOOKIES: SECURITY

I didn't include a security rating - because all of these sites are rock solid, safe, 10/10 sites.

I'm not interested in betting anywhere else - not matter what prices are offered - because it's hard enough to score a profit without having to deal with dodgy "fly-by-night" outfits.

If you are worried about betting online - you don't need to be as long as you stick with the sites on this page.
