Sometimes a change of scenery (head coach) can turn a team around, and sometimes it can have just the opposite effect. The Jazz are experiencing the latter result.
Utah hasn’t won since Deron Williams ran Jerry Sloan out of town with a hissy-fit. To be fair, new head coach Tyrone Corbin has fielded a completely healthy lineup since he took over, but this team must find a quick fix.
With Andrei Kirilenko dealing with ankle issues, Raja Bell sidelined with a calf strain, Ronnie Price hampered by a bad toe and Mehmet Okur out until early March, the Jazz should be actively perusing the trade market as the February 24 deadline approaches.
But Corbin, using a scarily similar line as Dennis Green, says the team can’t count on a miraculous trade to turn things around.
"We are who we are until we're not," he said. "So, this is the team. You've got to go out there, and you step on the floor and play like these are your teammates."
The Jazz will try to snap its four-game slide against one of the NBA’s top teams.

NBA NEWS
NBA Basketball Odds 2011 - Utah Jazz at Dallas Mavericks
NBA Betting Online: The NBA basketball odds 2011 matchup between the Jazz and Mavericks will take place Wednesday, February 23 at 8:30 p.m. ET at American Airlines Center in Dallas.
These teams met in mid-December and the Mavericks took a 103-97 decision as 5.5-point home favorites. The game went OVER the posted total of 195. The Jazz had dropped four in a row and seven of 10 games heading into the break. Dallas started to regain form prior to All-Star weekend, winning nine of 10 and going 8-2 ATS in that stretch.

Dallas has found a replacement for Caron Butler in Peja Stojakovic. Roddy Beaubois has returned to the lineup and Dirk Nowitzki has shaken off the rust after his injury. Hands down, Mark Cuban has assembled the deepest team in the league.
The Mavs are playing like they were at the beginning of the season when they won 25 of 27 games. They could have easily had a 14-game winning streak going into the break if they hadn’t collapsed against Denver on February 10 and lost on a last-second jumper.
"We had a little down there at the beginning of January, but we're playing well again and we have to stay healthy now, and it should be a fun run in the second half of the season," Nowitzki said.
The depth and balance this team has is tremendous. In a win over the Kings last Wednesday, five bench players scored in double figures and not one starter played more than 19 minutes. Then, with fresh legs, Dallas turned around and beat the Suns in Phoenix the following night.
“Balance has been our calling card all season long. We can't pile it on Dirk's back every night,” Rick Carlisle said.
When these NBA basketball odds 2011 are sent out by BookMaker on Tuesday, the Mavs should be favored by at least eight points. If the spread is any lower than that, take the home squad. The OVER should also be a good bet as Dallas has cashed five straight and 11 of 13.
NBA Lines - Atlanta Hawks at Phoenix Suns
NBA Betting Online: The NBA lines matchup between the Hawks and Suns will start at 9 p.m. ET on Wednesday, February 23 at US Airway Center in Phoenix. The Suns bested Atlanta the last time they met, 118-114 as 5.5-point road underdogs. The contest sailed OVER the posted total of 208.5. The Hawks had dropped three of four (1-3 ATS) heading into the break. Phoenix is surging having won seven of its last 10 overall (6-4 ATS).
Where has this Suns team been all season? Losing Amar’e Stoudemire was a big hit going into the year but no team with Steve Nash should be out of the playoff picture. After a decent stretch before the All-Star break where it won seven of 10, Phoenix finds itself 2.5 games out of the final playoff spot in the West.
"I believe in this team. We will come back after the All-Star break and we will play good basketball and we will find a way to make a run and get in the playoffs," Alvin Gentry said.

To do that, the Suns will need to beat the teams they should beat. So far this season, they are only 11-10 against the weaker Eastern Conference. Coming out of the break, their first six games come against East opponents. But the Hawks aren’t your common sub-.500 East team. You never really know which Hawks squad is going to show up on a particular night—the one that lost by 47 at home to New Orleans or the one that beat the Heat in Miami a month ago—but they are an athletic group.
Larry Drew is getting tired of the inconsistency the same way the fans are. He even threatened to move guys out of the starting rotation recently and said the Hawks would be active during the trading period. "We put ourselves in this hole by losing games the way we did (heading into the break)," Josh Smith said after Atlanta lost three of four. "Now it's up to us to dig our way out of this mess."
Although wildly inconsistent over the course of the season, Drew’s club has been very consistent in back-to-back situations. During the last 10 follow-up games of a back-to-back, Atlanta is 9-1 SU and 8-2 ATS. The Hawks will be in that scenario for this matchup having played Tuesday in Los Angeles.
The Suns are playing better defense but the scoreboard should be busy for this NBA lines contest. Phoenix will want to push Atlanta’s tired legs and the Hawks will oblige with their guys that can stretch the floor. As long as the total released at BookMaker isn’t higher than 205, take the OVER to cash your bet.
