Analysis:

Tottenham is battling to keep their spot in the Champions League as they are currently fourth but tied with Manchester City on 49 points but have a greater goal difference to stay ahead in the standings. Tottenham knows that the likes of Manchester City, Aston Villa and Liverpool are also chasing them for the coveted fourth spot at stake which guarantees Champions League football as well.

After the dissappointing defeat to Wolves, Tottenham have done well enough to bounce back with terrific displays over Wigan and Everton to get them back on track. Tottenham are still in the running for the FA Cup after being held by Fulham in a goalless draw.

Tottenham have a good home record and seldom gets beaten at White Hart Lane. Their last defeat was against Wolves, ironically back in December. Since then they have won six and drawn three of their last nine home games which makes them a force to be reckon with at home.

Blackburn on the other hand have a poor away record. They have managed just one win on the road in the top flight this season, which was against Bolton at the Reebok Stadium back in November. They are poor travellers and have lost 10 of their 14 matches away from Ewood Park, which resulted in last week's defeat to Liverpool, who are also in the chase for a fourth-place finish.

Blackburn did however beat the likes of Hull City and Bolton before the defeat to Liverpool and those wins seems to have pulled them far from the pack of strugglers behind them who are battling to avoid relegation. But Blackburn knows they still need to reach past 40 points to guarantee them safety this season. They will be fresh coming into this match as their last game was against Liverpool which was two weeks ago.

With regards to the team news, Tottenham will give every chance to Jermaine Defoe to prove his fitness before kickoff. He missed their last game against Fulham due to a hamstring injury. If he fails to recover in time then Peter Crouch will step in after doing well against Fulham as well as while playing for England.

However the likes of Tom Huddlestone (ankle), David Bentley (hip), Jermaine Jenas (groin) and Aaron Lennon (groin) are set to miss this clash through injuries.

Meanwhile for Blackburn, despite the two weeks break they are still without the likes of Lars Jacobsen (hernia), Ryan Nelsen (knee) and Vince Grella (calf) who are all still sidelined. David Dunn will be pressing for a starting berth having settled for a substitute role in the last two games.
