Texas are underdogs here against state rivals Baylor, something they are not used to. Baylor are ranked #19 coming into this with an 8-3 mark, while Texas are 7-4. Last year Baylor won this match 30-22, and I have a feeling they are the pick in this years match too.

Texas come into this match off an upset win over Texas A&M, winning 27-25 with a very late score. QB Case McCoy will probably retain throwing duties for this one, while TB Malcolm Brown will be relied on to get yards on the ground. Since coming back from injuries, he has gained just 72 yards through 2 games.

Texas may have scored 27 in their last game, but the 2 matches before that saw them score just 18 combined! Baylor have an offence so quick, they end up having their defence on the pitch for longer than normal, which leaves them vulnerable to scoring. I don't doubt Texas can score on them, given the amount of time they will have to face them, but the Baylor offence looks way too strong to get held out by Texas.

Baylors offence is marshalled by Heismann candidate QB Robert Griffin III. Griffen is completing 73% of his passes for 3,678 yards and has 34 TDs with just 5 interceptions. He is ranked 2nd in the nation in total offence and passing efficiency and has an amazing partner in Kendall Wright, who is one of the top receivers in the country with 1,406 yards and 12 TDs on 95 catches!

Baylor also have a real talent at RB in Terrance Ganaway. Ganaway is a senior looking to finish his college career in style. In his last match, he had 42 carries and went for 246 yards and 2 TDs.

BETTING VERDICT

Texas will score, that I do not doubt. But, Baylor are far too talented and will score on Texas everytime, and do it fast too. There is a higher chance of a Texas drive stalling than Baylor, so I would expect Baylor to come through by anywhere between 7 to 10 points. The spread is set at less than 3, so I'm getting involved.
