Bottom placed Gloria Bistrita caused a huge upset last weekend when they’ve managed to avoid defeat in Vaslui, against a team that was considered one of the favorites to finish second at the end of the season.
Bistrita took the lead after only two minutes in Vaslui, but the home side was awarded a controversial penalty in the 90+ minutes to grab an equalizer.
It would have been Gloria Bistrita’s first win since October when they’ve managed to cause another surprise beating Dinamo in Bucharest (2-1).
Gloria will now try to record their first home win since the 1-0 success against CS Turnu Severin which was obtained back in August. Since then Gloria Bistrita recorded five draws and a defeat.
Otelul Galati (11th W7 D7 L8)
Otelul Galati started the second part of the championship with a home defeat to Petrolul Ploiesti, but they’ve bounced back with two important victories against champions CFR Cluj (away 1-0) and third placed Pandurii (1-0 home).
New coach Petre Grigoras’ touch is starting to show, the team from Galati is now playing a solid football and they should finish in the top half of the table if they continue on this line.
The former Liga 1 champions will be looking for their third consecutive away success after the ones against CFR Cluj (1-0) and Rapid Bucuresti (2-3).
The Betting Verdict
Even if Gloria looks like a sure victim considering their position on the table, trips to Bistrita can always be tricky, especially for an Otelul Galati side that failed to win there on their previous four visits.
However, all the pressure will be on the home side, they can’t afford to drop any more points when playing at home if they’ll want to avoid relegation.
