Scotland have managed just two points after five games and last Friday they were beaten by Wales. Gordon Strachan was drafted in as successor to Craig Levein with the intention of injecting some life into the side, but so far it has not worked out.
His first competitive game as boss did not go according to plan after the 2-1 defeat against Wales at home last Friday.
Meanwhile, Serbia, who have played in the last two World Cup tournaments, have also found it difficult of late. They have picked up just two more points than the Scots and could find themselves in a difficult position if they failed to win this match.
Serbia's last match saw them go down to Croatia but they will hope to bounce back on home ground now.

Serbia are set to welcome defensive duo Nenad Tomovic and Milan Bisevac from suspension. Bisevac is expected to slot in at centre-half, with Matija Nastasic switching to left-back. The Manchester City man struggled against Croatia, but could keep his place in the side as cover is required for his club colleague Aleksandar Kolarov who is suspended for this clash.
Scotland Team News :
Strachan is expected to make a number of changes to the side after the defeat to Wales. Already without Darren Fletcher, Scott Brown, Ross McCormack, Danny Fox, James Forrest and James Morrison, Strachan's squad was weakened further for the trip to Serbia when defender Russell Martin withdrew with a hamstring injury and midfielder Kris Commons stayed behind due to personal reasons.
Meanwhile, Robert Snodgrass is suspended for picking up two yellow cards against Wales, which led to a call-up for Birmingham defender Paul Caddis.
