Both sides goes into this match with different aims. Rayo Vallecano travels to Mallorca knowing that they are six points out of a potential European spot and need to start winning if they want to play in Europe next season. Meanwhile, Mallorca after three straight defeats, finally managed to get the win when they beat Celta Vigo last weekend. That win has put them within a point of escaping the relegation zone. Mallorca needs to win this match if they are to stay in the La Liga next season.
Looking at Real Mallorca's last four home games, they have only managed to win two games, and that was against Celta Vigo (bottom of La Liga) by 1-0 and against Sevilla (10th in La Liga), but Sevilla has a wretched away record of just 1 win, 5 draws and 10 defeats, so that was noit a surprised they got that win anyway. Their other home games saw them lose to Deportivo by 3-2 (despite Deportivo not having the best away form) and Getafe 3-1.
Rayo Vallecano on the other hand, just lost their last match at home to Real Sociedad going down 2-0. The last time they suffered back to back defeats was in the run against Barcelona, lost to them 3-1 away from home and then lost to Malaga 3-1 at home. and similarly when they lost to Real Madrid 2-0 away from home and then lost to Real Valladolid 2-1 at home.
Their last 4 away games have seen them beat Celta Vigo, and drew with Deportivo 0-0 and losses against top sides such as Barcelona 3-1 and Real Madrid 2-0.
It is hard for me to see Real Mallorca winning back to back games at home, especially against Rayo Vallecano. I'll go for this match to end in a draw here.
