Football : English Premier League
Venue: Liberty Stadium
Saturday 4th May 2013 – Kickoff time 15:00
Match Preview :
Swansea welcomes the visit of Manchester City hoping to get a win in front of their home fans before the end of the season. Since they won the League Cup, Swansea have failed to win in their last six matches and managed just one win.
However, the Swans are still in ninth position, despite their poor run of form and have the chance to finish the season in eight spot. But they must be wary as Southampton are in 13th spot and are just three points below them with 39 points.
Meanwhile Manchester City have their sights set on the FA Cup Final which they will contest in next weekend and may be thinking of that match already. As it is now, Roberto Mancini's side have yet to confirm their second spot in the standings but the best they can do is settle for second spot after seeing Manchester United win the title with four games to go.
When Manchester City visited the Liberty Stadium for the first time last year they were beaten 1-0. And it should be noted that all three clashes between these two sides have seen the home side win and kept a clean sheet.
Team News :
Swansea Team News :
Chico Flores is rated doubtful ahead of this clash. The Spanish defender suffered bruising to his arm in training earlier this week, but Michael Laudrup is hoping he can recover in time. However, Winger Roland Lamah is certain to miss out with a hamstring injury.
Manchester City Team News :
Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart will start this match. The England international suffered a back injury in last Saturday's victory over West Ham and is set to start this match considering that Romanian Costel Pantilimon is set to play in the cup final next week.
Other then that, Manchester City do not have any injury worries or suspensions with striker Sergio Aguero and midfielders David Silva and James Milner having returned from hamstring problems against West Ham.
It is likely that Mancini will not risk his first team players with the FA Cup Final to be played next weekend.
