Match Preview :
Wigan goes into this match against Swansea knowing that a win can bring them out of the bottom three. As in past seasons, Roberto Martinez side have the reputation of getting out of danger and they showed just that when they managed to come from behind to beat West Brom last weekend.
But tonight it will take something special if they are to beat the Capital One Cup Winners Swansea. If Wigan can get the win here then it will put them above Norwich in the standings as well as Newcastle United on goals difference. It will also put them level with Sunderland on 38 points as well.
Wigan knows that they have a final game against Aston Villa still to come so that means if they can get the win here they can at the same time drag other teams into the relegation battle as well. And they have a game against Arsenal next to come so they cannot afford to lose this match as that would leave them on the brink of being relegated from the Premiership for the first time since 2005.
Swansea since winning the League Cup at Wembley have nothing much to play for and have not won in their last seven games now. The players could just be going by what Micahel Laudrup stated that there is little difference in finishing 8th or evn 14th in the Premiership. Swansea did do well to hold Mancchester City to a 0-0 draw in their last match however if the Swans gets a draw here then Wigan could be staring at the Championships.

Jean Beausejour is ruled out of this game with a hamstring strain. Meanwhile, Paraguayan centre-back Antolin Alcaraz is unlikely to return for the game after being sidelined by a similar injury two weeks ago.
Midfielder James McArthur may earn a recall after being rested at the weekend but Maynor Figueroa will miss the remainder of the season with a groin problem.
Swansea Team News :
Swansea manager Michael Laudrup will be without top scorer Michu for the trip after he suffered a hamstring injury and is out for the rest of the season. His absence means Luke Moore is likely to lead the attack while Ki Sung-yueng may come back into contention after a dead leg caused him to miss the City clash.
Roland Lamah remains out of the side with a hamstring problem.
