What a massive win at Old Trafford that was for Chelsea, who will surely know that a win against Tottenham all but guarantees them a top 4 finish. Chelsea nicked it 1-0 after a deflected goal mere minutes from FT and I have a feeling their momentum, especially at home, sees them through.
Chelsea have now won their last 6 home games in the league, and have scored in 7 straight at the Bridge. Tottenham were not sharp at all with home advantage against Southampton's porous defence, managing only the 1 goal, albeit the winner, late on. Keep in mind Tottenham have won just 1 of their last 3 away games.
Of course, there is also the Stamford Bridge hoodoo. In 20 trips here they have yet to win. This is a Blues side that have just come back from Old Trafford with a win, and a defence that kept Manchester United from scoring at home for the first time in years!
Tottenham are not going to keep Chelsea out, as they have conceded in each of their last 4 away games. Spurs may have Bale, but that is all they have. Chelsea have several dangerous weapons - Ba, Hazard, Mata, who has scored 3 times in his last 2 appearances against Tottenham, and also Luiz, who was on target in both legs against Basel. Then there is Lampard who is looking to equal the big record, and it may just come via the spot.
THE BETTING VERDICT
I just have a feeling Tottenham's chances get smoked here. Too many trends against them, including the great big slump they've been in since beating Arsenal.
Too many trends for Chelsea, who have massive momentum too. I think Chelsea win it, but I'm going to take on a big priced punt here instead. Let's bet on Chelsea to score a penalty.
