Match Preview :
Southampton welcome Stoke City to the St. Mary's Stadium with both teams already having secured Premiership survival. After the results last weekend, it ensured that both sides could not be sucked into the bottom three and they will be targeting a win as they head for the new season.
For Southampton, under January signing Mauricio Pochettino, the coach has done well to keep them up and it holds a good future for the coach. They just got to the 40 mark after four games without a win, which had been preceded by successive victories over Liverpool, Chelsea and Reading.
Stoke boss Tony Pulis continues to fend off questions about his future and plans for the club but he kept reiterating that he will aim to keep Stoke in the Premiership once again next season. Stoke does not have a good awau record as they maanaged just two wins on their travels this season. But for Michael Owen, this will be his last match and will hope to start this match before he retires from the game.
For the record, Stoke have not won at Southampton since 1980 and this will be the first time that the two clubs have met in the Premier League on the south coast.
The last time they met at the Britannia Stadium earlier this season, Stoke had to come back from 3-1 down to get a point as it finished 3-3, thanks to Cameron Jerome's stunning last-minute equaliser.

Rickie Lambert and Luke Shaw are rated doubtful for this match against Stoke. Top scorer Lambert has been struggling with a knock to his back for a month and will be checked upon before kickoff, while 17-year-old left-back Shaw has had a virus. Neither has trained this week, although manager Pochettino is hopeful they could still start at St Mary's.
Steve de Ridder and Vegard Forren are two others in doubt, while Gaston Ramirez and Danny Fox play no part as they are suspended.
Stoke Team News :
Charlie Adam is suspended for Stoke after the midfielder was sent off in last week's 2-1 defeat at home by Tottenham. Glenn Whelan is a doubt after struggling for match fitness in recent weeks, while Andy Wilkinson may again miss out as he was only a substitute against Tottenham due to a back problem.
Michael Owen will be hoping to be selected in what will be his final match before he retires.
