Solidiers in the fourteenth century from Ludlow Castle came to Ludlow Racecourse to match their horses, the course now offers more modern (Edwardian) character andis located approximately 162 miles from London, 39 miles from Birmingham, 24 miles from Hereford and 29 miles from Shrewsbury.

By rail: Paddington - Newport. Local line to Ludlow (bus connection - 2 miles) on Newport (Gwent) - Crewe line. A Free bus service from Ludlow train station operates at a quarter past the hour before the first race, returning after the last.
By air: Helicopter landing facilities are available on Course by arrangement.

The course at Ludlow is a right-handed oval circuit of approximately 1½ miles with a separate Hurdles course. The Steeplechase course is flat but the Hurdles Course undulates. A golf course is enclosed within the track which is crossed by several roads. The Course has a full watering system.
