THE MATCH
To quote the Liverpool manager Benitez, " I will make a few changes to the team I originally had in my head".
I can understand that.
After their FA Cup loss against Arsenal, Liverpool must not lose this quarter final, and I take it for granted that Liverpool will come with a stronger line up than was intended a week ago.
Bellamy will probably play from the start, Hyypia and F Aurelio as well. Dudek will get another chance in goal.
Wins at Anfield and Old Trafford and a draw at the Stamford Bridge - Arsenal have the biggest potential in the Premiership.
Fabregas and Diaby will be in contention again, but definitely missing are F Ljungberg, Lauren, Gallas and Adebayor. I should think that Henry will be rested.
Wenger, the Arsenal boss, has been very loyal so far. He has used plenty of fringe players in this Carling Cup (Denilson, Song Billong, Aladiere for instance) and I expect him to continue his policy.
Still this "different side" defeated Everton at Goodison in the previous round, and I am talking about the strongest Everton side.
THE VERDICT
What can I say? Liverpool must not lose once again to Arsenal, and they cannot risk this, by fielding too many reserves, can they?
Arsenal will field a make shift side, but a relaxed side. Nothing to lose, I guess.
Not my betting game, but I would go for the home win.
