Analysis:

Olympique Lyonnais currently winless since the start of 2007 will want to make amends with the visit of FC Lorient in seventh place and Gerard Houlier's team will aim to make home advantage counts and build on that 11 points lead at the top over their nearest rivals RC Lens in second place.

Lyon still at the top but ever since beating Paris Saint German 3-1 four matches at home, their other three home matches have been rather disappointing as they could only draw with AS Monaco 0-0, lost to Bordeaux 1-2 and in their last home match drew with Nice 1-1.

They have brought in Milan Baros from Aston Villa but he has yet to make a big impact at the club, so he will be hoping to score here and get Lyon back on the winning track as they have gone five games without a win since thrashing RC Lend 4-0 away from home.

As for FC Lorient, they come into this match in high spirits winning their last three games consecutively now. In their last match they beat Le Mans 2-1 and prior to that they beat FC Nantes 2-0 away from home. Their other away games have seen them drawing with Bordeaux 1-1 and losing narrowly to Auxerre 2-1.

Despite Lyon's small crisis they still have a very good home record of 7 wins, 3 draws and just 1 defeat at home and the second best defensive record whereby they only conceded 8 goals at home. They are also second on top of the home scoring charts with 18 goals.
