2007-03-28 - Italy vs Scotland
A Sports Betting Pick by Cruiser
Analysis:Italy the current World Champions will take on current group leaders Scotland in Bari and must win as they are five points below today's opponents. Roberto Donadoni's players enters this match knowing that they have always beaten Scotland on home soil and will be keen to continue that trend in today's match.
However, they are currently in fourth spot and have failed to recapture the form that helped them lift the World Cup last summer. The good news for Italy is that goalkeeper Gianlugi Buffon has been passed fit to play after a bout of illness. Midfielder Simone Perrotta who plays for A.S Roma is also fit after shaking off an injury.
Former Rangers star Rino Gattuso will also start this match but the scorer of the last encounter between these two sides when Italy won 2-0 Andrea Pirlo could miss out for the home side. Fiorentina striker Luca Toni will start in attack and try to get the goals here.
As for Scotland they will start with a 4-5-1 formation here but will likely adopt a defensive attitude. A five men midfield with the likes of Kenny Miller likely to be the only striker upfront. Craig Beattie as well as Kris Boyd is set to be relegated to the substitutes bench.
Christian Dailly is set to start in midfield as they aim to be more defensive here. Hibs midfielder Scott Brown hopes to start this match after making a good impression against Georgia. Steven Pressley is available again for the visitors.
I will go for Scotland and accept the 1 1/2 ball here.
Cheers and good luck,
Cruiser
