Georgia Tech Yellowjackets
The Jackets opened the season with two nice victories, they then struggled at home against a very good Boston College team.
RB Tashard Choice has looked very impressive and appears to be an NFL first round pick, Choice will be the key as Tech are relying heavily on the running game, in fact there have no passing touchdowns in the first 3 weeks.
The passing has been efficient if unspectacular, an extra effort this week will be very welcome.
The defence has been very impressive and rank 26th in Division 1A, only a poor offensive show against Boston stands between the current position and a perfect record.
Virginia Cavaliers
The Cavaliers come into the game sporting a 2-1 record, however they have lost to Wyoming and can boast narrow victories over bottom feeders Duke and North Carolina.
The problems have been on offence with points being very hard to come by, they are averaging a poor 258 yards per game, and are ranked 111th in the nation.
The attack will be shouldered by RB Cedric Peerman, the passing game appears to be very poor and big production should not be expected.
On defence things look a little better, no team has managed to score more than 23 points, the test this week will be mouch tougher
THe Verdict
Georgia Tech are a step up from anything else that Virginia has faced this week and they will be unable to generate the offence required to score the points reqired.
Expect a defensive game and in that department the Jackets have a great advantage.
The spread of 3.5 looks a little low, my prediction is Georgia Tech to win by 10 points.
