2008-04-19 - Adelaide Crows vs Fremantle Dockers
A Sports Betting Pick by Gratis
AAMI Stadium, Adelaide
Saturday 19th April 2008- KO 3.10pm (local time)
Both sides are coming off heavy round four losses, but Fremantle’s 64 point belting at home to Richmond was far worse than Adelaide’s defeat to Hawthorn in Tasmania.
Adelaide are sixth on the table with two wins and two losses, Fremantle is thirteenth with only one win, which was in the Perth derby against West Coast.
Adelaide (2-2)
Adelaide has only made one change with Jacky coming in for his debut and Campbell going out.
Last week the Crows were poor against Hawthorn, but then the Hawks are undefeated and on top of the ladder at the moment. The previous week, Adelaide played a bruising match against arch-rival Port Adelaide which obviously took a bit out of them.
Their other loss was a three point round one loss to the Bulldogs who are also still undefeated.
Fremantle (1-3)
Again the Dockers will rely on their best player, Matthew Pavlich to lead from the front. Pavlich kicked five goals in their only win for the season, and will need to kick another bag of goals for the Dockers to win here.
The coaching staff have made some sweeping changes to the team, with five players being dumped. They are Headland, Tarrant, Warnock, Duffield and Peake. Replacing them is: Michael Johnson, Carr, McManus, Drum and the debutant Hinkley.
Head-to-Head
Fremantle have won three of the last four but the loss came in an Elimination Final in 2006. Fremantle also upset Adelaide here at AAMI Stadium in round 16 last year.
2007: Adelaide 101 lost to Fremantle 126
2007: Fremantle 58 def Adelaide 57
2006: Adelaide 76 def Fremantle 46 (Elimination Final)
2006: Adelaide 80 lost to Fremantle 95
2006: Fremantle 59 lost to Adelaide 70
The Verdict
Fremantle could not play any worse than last weekend’s terrible 64 point loss to Richmond, but with their inconsistency they are impossible to tip here.
I expect Adelaide to avenge for their defeat here last season to Fremantle and win easily.
The Pick :
Adelaide to win by 30 points.
