Analysis:Rangers welcome the visit of Italian side Fiorentina to Ibrox knowing that they have a realistic chance of bagging four trophies this season. And even though the Scottish side have just the League Cup to their name, they are already in the Final of Scottish Cup final having beaten St. Johnstone on penalties to reach the final where they will face Queen of the South. Fiorentina on the other hand are battling with Milan for the final spot of the Chamions League this season as they have yet to win a trophy this season. So, reaching the semi-finals is their best achievement to date.

But when you look at their UEFA Cup record at home, they do play very well at Ibrox. To date they have conceded just two goals at home in their past six UEFA Cup games. But Rangers are short of numbers going into this match as they are almost certain to miss the services of goalkeeper Allan McGregor alongside with midfielder Lee McCulloch.The likes of Charlie Adam, Steven Naismith, and Chris Burke are also rated doubtful.

With McGregor out, Neil Alexander will start in goal for his first European appearance for Rangers. Captain Barry Ferguson and Kevin Thomson are suspended, while Andy Webster, Charlie Adam and DaMarcus Beasley are still out.
As for Fiorentina, coach Cesare Prandelli intents to adopt an attacking approach in order to get a goal and bring the game back to Italy for the second leg.
Their only doubt remains Tomas Ujfalusi who was earlier ruled out with a thigh injury but will be given until the last hour to prove his fitness before the match starts. But the Czech midfielder along with the likes of Riccardo Montolivo and Adrian Mutu are just a booking away and could miss the second leg if they are booked here tonight.
