FULHAM
Fulham got a great result in their last Premier League game, winning 1-0 against Arsenal and looking well worth the victory. Sure, Arsenal were poor (that's the polite version of what I said at the time) but there was no denying the Fulham effort and it was not a fluke result.
Fulham managed to lose their opening game of the season at Hull City 1-2, despite bossing the game for long periods, and perhaps that's colouring the judgement of the odds setters?
A postponement against Manchester United (due to the bizarrely scheduled European "Super Cup") means that it's been three weeks since Fulham had a game, but that should not be too much of a handicap.
BOLTON WANDERERS
Bolton had a good start to the season with a 3-1 home win over newcomers Stoke City but since then it hasn't gone too well.
A 0-1 loss at Newcastle, and a 0-0 home draw with West Brom were poor performances and their Carling Cup defeat to Northampton was even worse.
HEAD TO HEAD
Fulham match up pretty well to Bolton here in London where Fulham have a 5-1-0 record in the last six fixtures, although its rarely easy as three of those wins have been by a single goal margin.
THE VERDICT
Fulham are down the table having played only two games, and that's possibly a reason why the bookmakers and betting public have left the 2.20+ price on a home win alone.
I have Fulham rated as a stronger side than Bolton, and in any league you can have reasonable expectations of the home side winning around half of these clashes.
That should mean an even money punt on the home side - but you can get a significantly better price - it's a 15% price advantage on fair value and it has to be taken.
