Ajax are the leaders in the ranking, joined by AZ and NAC Breda, and despite the fact the team isn't playing that great, the results are good over the last few weeks beating FC Twente 0-2 on the road and MSK Zilina 1-0 in the UEFA Cup on Thursday.
Sparta are currently on the 15th place in the ranking with 8 points from their last 9 games and the team has booked some good results at home, but grabbed only one point on the road this season drawing 1-1 Vitesse six weeks ago. Against FC Groningen (3-0), PSV (1-0) and AZ (6-0) Sparta suffered three defeats without scoring a goal.
Ajax still will miss a lot of players but Van Basten will be able to field a strong selection with Suarez and Huntelaar always good for some goals in the Arena. Ajax hasn't conceded a single goal in Amsterdam so far this season while Sparta has only scored once on the road in four games.
Basically, there is no need for an extensive preview and anything else than a clear home win would be a huge surprise. With scorelines of 6-2, 5-2 and 6-0 in the last three games between both times I guess it's safe to take Ajax on the AH -1.5 handicap at $1.62.
