Analysis:Scotland wilL be seeking a rare win when they play host to Diego Maradona's Argentina when they clash at Hampden Park tonight. With Maradona taking charge of the Argentina side, it has made this clash even more interesting for the fans and players alike.
Scotland are at the moment second in their World Cup qualifying group, despite picking up just four points from three games. In their last match they failed to score against Norway as both sides played to a goalless draw. Scotland still do not have any competitive match to go but Manager George Burley wants his side to get a good result tonight when they face they face the Argentines.
Burley will have to get his side together after withdrawals means that players such as Craig Gordon, Kenny Miller, Darren Fletcher, Steven Fletcher, James Morrison and Ross McCormack are all out of the side with injuries. Barry Robson is also out after a late injury on his groin forced him out.
Robson was hoped to start alongside Celtic team-mate Scott Brown and the returning Barry Ferguson, with Shaun Maloney and James McFadden providing support for Chris Iwelumo upfront.
At the back four we will see the likes of Kirk Broadfoot, Gary Caldwell, Stephen McManus and Gary Naysmith providing cover for Allan McGregor in goal.
Alan Hutton will hope to start after returning to the Scotland side following injury while Aberdeen forward Lee Miller and Dundee United midfielder Scott Robertson could also feature after they were called up into the national side.
For Argentina, the focus has been on Diego Maradona and his hand of God goal against England since he took over from Alfio Basile earlier this month. Maradona has limited coaching experience however.
Scotland assistant manager and former England player Terry Butcher has refused to forgive Maradona but the new Argentina boss has not given much into what has been said in the press towards the build up.
As it stands now Argentina are currently third in the South American World Cup qualifying zone and still has a lot to accomplish before they can advance to the 2010 tournament.
With regards to their team news, Lionel Messi who plays for Barcelona, is out while Sergio Aguero has also returned to Spain to be with his pregnant girlfriend. Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano will be the Captain, while Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez and Newcastle winger Jonas Gutierrez will also start this match.
