We revisit the County Ground for my next tip, where home side Swindon Town will consolidate their play-off position if they win tonight against visitors Oldham Athletic.
Swindon Town (6th) Home : 8-5-1 23:13
The Robins will be looking to extend their unbeaten home run to eight games, following a very impressive sequence of six wins on the trot including victories over Huddersfield Town 2-1, and the destroying of Leeds United 3-0.
This run was only halted by the visit of automatic promotion hopefuls Charlton Athletic (1-1) which is understandable, but it should be a return to winning ways at the County Ground tonight.
Swindon’s last five home games have netted 12 goals for, and only four goals against.
Their home record stands at 8-5-1 23:13, and their firepower is provided courtesy of messrs Billy Paynter (14 goals) & Charlie Austin (10 goals), with winger Jon-Paul McGovern (10 assists) in good form as the provider.
Striker Vincent Pericard is fighting for a place on the bench.
Oldham Athletic (19th) Away : 4-3-6 10:15
Visitors Oldham Athletic ended a dismal run of five away matches without a win when they beat fellow strugglers Tranmere Rovers 1-0 at the weekend.
However, they have not beaten a top six side yet this season, with their four away wins coming against Leyton Orient 2-1, Southend United 1-0, Brighton 2-0 and then 1-0 v Tranmere.
Against top six sides, they’ve lost 0-2 at Millwall, and 0-2 at Norwich City but they did get a point off Charlton Athletic (0-0).
Their Oldham away record stands at 4-3-6 10/15, with the obvious dangerman being striker Pawel Abbott (8 goals) who is their leading scorer.
The Betting Verdict :
I must admit I was a bit surprised by the odds on offer on what should be a straightforward home win, and I'll take them quickly.
BEST BETTING TIP :
Take Swindon Town to win
