St Mirren

St Mirren's form of late has been a little bit ropey in my opinion and in fact they have not won in the league since their surprise 2-1 home victory against Rangers on Christmas Eve, albiet that match was ruined by a poor red card decision early in the 1st half.

Since then they have only picked up 2pts which leaves them struggling to make the top 6 come the split. There is no doubt they will be desperate to get their first win of 2012 under their belt but they will need a much improved performance from lasts weeks poor show in the cup where they were held to a 1-1 draw at home against lower league Ross County.

Dougie Imrie should slot back into the team but the buddies will still be without Hugh Murray, Darren McGregor and Kenny McLean.

Motherwell

Motherwell just go from strength to strength this season and will be on a high from their ruthless 6-0 victory over Morton in the cup which really was a bit of a miss match from the off.

Stuart McColl really does have his troops firing on all cylinders and with the pacey attacking players such as Jamie Murphy, Omar Daley and Nicky Law they pose a serious danger to any defence.

Motherwell like playing in Paisley and are unbeaten here in their last 6 games dating back to 2008. What will be most worrying for St Mirren will be the amount of goals Motherwell are scoring at the moment with 12 in their last 3 games.

Teams news - Craigan is back in contention following his 2 match suspension. Only Saunders and resrve goalie Hollis remain absent.

THE BETTING VERDICT

I really think this is a great opportunity to back Motherwell who are really going well against a St Mirren team that are starting to struggle in my opinion.

I'm a big fan of the football that Motherwell play, they have great balance in their team coupled with a mix of experience and youth. In fact it is no real surprise to me that they are rightly in 3rd place.

All the talk is of their new little super star loan signing, Henrik Ojamaa, who I mentioned a couple of weeks back. He has managed to bag 5 goals since his arrival and has had as many assists also, a smashing little player!

I am really surprised that this match has been priced up with the home side being the slight favourites as in my opinion Motherwell should be the clear favourites for a win.

For a bit of saftey I recommend taking Mothwerwell DNB at odds of 2.0 and I must admit I think its a great bet!

Anytime scorer bets - I reckon Higdon might pop up with a goal @ 3.00 to take the limelight off all the young stars...
