Fiorentina could be the team to watch after their spending in the transfer market prior to the start of the season, and with new coach Vincenzo Montella, they have made drastic changes to the side. Montella is likely to revert to the style he used at Catania meaning we could see a 3-5-2 and 4-3-3 formation.

It has to be said that the 3-5-2 is not a system that will be too unfamiliar – many of these players had experience of it last year under both Sinisa Mihajlovic and Delio Rossi.

Udinese have lost the services of Mauricio Isla and Kwadwo Asamoah, but the impact will not be as great as the departure of Alexis Sanchez the season before. Last season they played most of the time without Isla anyway, which means that leaves Asamoah as the man they need to adjust without.

Last season Fiorentina won 3-2 and they have not lost on the opening day since 2006.
