It looks like the six points penalty proved to be too difficult to overcome for minnows Siena even though the Bianconeri managed to climb out the drop zone at a given point in the season.

Siena is now coming into this match on the back of five consecutive defeats which of course were no help in their battle to avoid relegation. Siena will probably finish 19th, which means they’ll return to the tough Serie B in the upcoming season.

Siena was close to cause an upset last weekend when they’ve travelled to Naples, but Marek Hamsik rescued all three points for Champions League qualifiers Napoli at the San Paolo.

Coach Iachini will probably field his typical eleven in Siena’s last home match in Serie A, but Pozzi and Vergassola may sit this one out after having struggled to shake off some injuries.

Assuming that Fiorentina will pick up all points at bottom placed Pescara, Milan needs to win at relegated Siena to guarantee a Champions League spot.

Both games seem like formalities for the two battling for the last UCL spot, so Milan should have no problems achieving their objective.

Fiorentina’s good form allowed the Viola to put pressure on a Milan side that could have wrapped it up last weekend, but were held to a goalless draw in a tense match against AS Roma.

Milan will travel to Siena without Sulley Muntari who has been suspended in the Roma game, which means that we’ll see Ambrosini in the midfield.

The Betting Verdict

A positive result against AC Milan will always be prestigious for a small team like Siena, but at this point in the season I don’t think there’s much spirit left in Iachini’s squad.

No one expects Milan to slip up here and they probably won’t, Milan should prove to be too strong for relegated Siena.

Siena have failed to score on their last five games at the Artemio Franchi, so I’ll back Milan here to win to nil at 1.95 since there’s not much value in taking the straight away win at such short odds.
