North Carolina
The Tar Heels have been fairly poor so far this season with the only real victory coming over Miami, it was no co-incidence that this was the only time that the Tar Heels have managed more than 20 points all season.
On the plus side they have kept most games fairly close and only South Florida have handed them a real thrashing.
The rushing game has been fairly non existant, this puts a lot of pressure on QB T.J Yates, so far this season he has not really proven capable of handling the load.
UNC are in the bottom half of the conference in virtually every category and this will not be the game to turn it around
Wake Forest
The Deacons suffered an early season hangover after last years amazing season, the loss to Boston College doesn’t look too bad in hindsight, the narrow defeat to Nebraska looks less flattering. Since then Wake have looked very good, including good wins over Florida State, Maryland and a decent Navy side.
Future NFL QB Riley Skinner is the number one weapon on offence, since his return from injury he is completing over 70% of his passes for nearly 10 yards a pass.
Of greater concern is the defences poor showing, they rank only 9th in the division of what is traditionally a strong defensive conference.
Five wins in a row builds a lot of momentum and I would expect the Deacons to continue to build on this,
The Verdict
This would be a no brainer but North Carolina’s good performance against South Carolina makes me doubt myself.
