2007-12-01 - North Texas at Florida Internationa
A Sports Betting Pick by Luccin
@ Florida International Golden Panthers
Venue: Miami, Florida
Previous Meetings :
2006 North Texas v FIU 13-10
2005 North Texas @ FIU 25-22
Florida International
Virtually every pollster has the Panthers ranked as the worst team in college football, ranked 119 they have only been within 3 points of their opponents once this season.
On a positive note they have managed to score over 20 points in the past three games, less promising they have not held a single opponent below 23 points all year.
To make matters worse QB Wayne Younger is injured and will not play on Saturday, they will rely on backup Paul McCall who actually did a reasonable job in the defeat to FAU last week.
They rank among the bottom 5 in points scored and points allowed and are giving up nearly 200 yards per game more than they are managing to accumulate.
North Texas – The Mean Green have gone from conference powerhouse to cellar dwellers in two short seasons, they are only marginally higher in the rankings than FIU at 108th.
Scoring has not been a problem but defence has been nothing short of tragic, they have given up over 60 points on three occasions and over 45 a further 3 times.
The passing game is fairly solid and QB Gio Vizza will hope to pad his stats against one of the weakest defences in the division, stud WR Casey Fitzgerald will hope to benefit from Florida’s week secondary.
The problem will be defence, UNT’s is the worst in the division and will be hard pushed as they have been all season.
Verdict
The two most woeful defences in the division meet up, North Texas have the big advantage on offence and should prove too strong in the end.
The Pick :
North Texas 31-17 Florida International
