Crystal Palace

There is a growing feeling amongst the Crystal Palace fanbase that Oliver Glasner cannot continue in his role as manager of the club. He may have led Crystal Palace to an unbelievable FA Cup success, but the decision to announce he is leaving at the end of the season has been considered a real factor in the underwhelming performances that have been produced by the team for weeks.

The 1-1 draw at Zrinjski Mostar may have put Crystal Palace in a position to earn a spot in the Last 16 of the Conference League, but it was a performance that was met with anger from the fans that travelled. There is a real feeling that the Crystal Palace board are thinking about making the managerial change now and the atmosphere at Selhurst Park for the next two games are perhaps going to be a key factor in determining Glasner's future, as well as the results achieved.

Crystal Palace have won 1 of the last 15 games played in all competitions and even that success over rivals Brighton earlier this month has failed to spark an upturn in form. The Eagles have lost 5 of the last 8 Premier League games played at home, including a 2-3 defeat to Burnley in the last outing at Selhurst Park, which was a game in which Crystal Palace led 2-0.

Jefferson Lerma is set to miss out along with Jean-Philippe Mateta, while Maxence Lacroix is a doubt.

Wolves

The point earned on Wednesday is unlikely to change the fortunes in this season, but Wolves fans will have been really pleased with the fight and determination the side showed in the 2-2 draw with Premier League leaders Arsenal. They were 0-2 down, but the players did not allow that to affect the levels and Rob Edwards will want the current squad to show that they are ready for what is going to be a big fight back in the tough Championship next season.

Despite the point earned and becoming the first team to be sitting in the relegation zone and earning a point against the League leaders from two goals behind, Wolves are 17 points from safety going into this round of Premier League fixtures. The side travel to South London with a 0-4-9 record and Wolves have managed just 5 goals in those fixtures played.

Wolves have made it through to the FA Cup Fifth Round and they have drawn the last 2 Premier League games, which gives them some momentum. They showed some resilience, and also had fortune on their side, in the goalless draw at the City Ground in the last away Premier League game played and Wolves have drawn 3 of the last 4 on their travels in the top flight.

Angel Gomes picked up a knock this past Wednesday, but is expected to be available for selection.

Head to Head

Two second half goals helped Crystal Palace to a comfortable win at Molineux earlier this season.

Crystal Palace have won 5 in a row at home against Wolves.

Prediction

There has to be some doubts about both of these teams ahead of this Premier League fixture.

On paper there is a big difference in quality available to the two respective managers, but Oliver Glasner admitted he is not getting the best out of his Crystal Palace team. Even the signings that have been made have not been integrated into the first team as the manager would have hoped and this has all added up to a prolonged slump in form and genuine pressure on Glasner just nine months after leading the club to the FA Cup trophy.

The 1-1 draw in the Conference League on Thursday saw the away fans turning on Oliver Glasner and the announcement that he is leaving at the end of the season makes him feel like a 'lame duck' manager.

Crystal Palace's board are thinking about making a change and that makes this fixture harder to judge- if the players are still behind Glasner, Crystal Palace could win easily, but if they have also lost faith in the manager, this could be another difficult day not long after the 2-3 defeat to relegation threatened Burnley.

The only problem is that it would mean trusting Wolves with their 10 Premier League points to earn a positive result here.

Rob Edwards has guided his team to 3 draws in 4 away Premier League games played, while they fought back for a 2-2 draw with leaders Arsenal at Molineux on Wednesday.

However, the underlying numbers continue to make poor reading for Wolves, who have lacked the quality at this level, and 5 away goals all season makes it tough to trust them.

They earned a goalless draw at Nottingham Forest earlier this month, but to describe the home team as wasteful is a massive understatement and it cost Sean Dyche his job at the City Ground.

For all of their issues, Crystal Palace were leading Burnley 2-0 before capitulating and there is enough in the attacking third to believe they can stave of an Oliver Glasner Sacking for at least a few more days.
