Arsenal travel up to Carrow Road to play Norwich City in the early kick-off, looking to push up from their 7th place standing. The Gunners have finally gotten their season going, registering 4 straight Premier League wins, including one on the road. That 5-3 win over Chelsea will have done nothing but good for the team mentally and I feel they will be able to ride that confidence to another win here.
Norwich are in 9th, but have not won any of their last 3 games, drawing twice. That said, the Canaries have given the top teams a scare this season. Norwich were in it till very late with Chelsea before a penalty ruined things, while Liverpool were recently held to a 1-1 draw. Manchester United were also run close here.
Arsenal can go level with Chelsea and Tottenham in 4th if they win. Wenger will be hoping the international break has not spoilt their momentum coming into it. It's been a while since Arsenal played here but that result was a 4-1 win for them. I reckon they could well score a few goals here, especially as Norwich have conceded in their last few home games. Swansea and Sunderland scored 1 each but lost, although the last home game saw Norwich grab a draw despite giving up 3 goals to Blackburn. That kind of play will get punished by the Gunners.
Van Persie is an automatic choice in the anytime scorer markets, as he has scored 29 goals in 28 Premier League games this year! His form seems to be getting even hotter as he has 8 goals in his last 4 matches. There are a bunch of players who can bang in goals here which you know about, so what I will say is that this defence is likely to be able to hold Norwich to just the 1 goal here as the defence now has Vermaelen back and in the squad.
BETTING VERDICT
The straight win is priced decently and seems decent value in my opinion but I'm after better returns. I'll opt for Arsenal to win by more than 1, with the one goal win giving us a push and our money back.
Arsenal to score 2 is priced lower than the win, but since I see this game having goals, I'll take Arsenal to net at least 3 times at a very good price of 2/1 at Bet365.
