PREVIEW
Nice win yesterday with the underdogs Miami, as they won a highscoring affair 8-6. I think Atlanta will bounce back today to level the series, and they actually have the superior pitcher on the mound. But with Miami also keep to restrict scoring I think we will see less runs scored. I'm looking at the Under.
The Marlins go with Ricky Nolasco, who is 4-1 with a 3.65ERA. He has been great all season but spoit things a bit in his last start, where he suffered his first loss by giving up 6 runs against the Mets. I'm looking at his road record and I see this season in 4 starts he has a 3-0 mark and a very good 2.15ERA. He's also pitching, on average, over 7 innings per game, limiting the pressure on the bullpen.
The Braves counter with Brandon Beachy, who is also 4-1 but with a stupendous 1.60ERA. His last start saw him give up just 1 run on 2 hits in 6 innings against the very dangerous St. Louis Cardinals!
Beachy has made 7 starts this season and he's only given up 1 homer in that time, so chances are Miami will have to work hard to score on him. None of his 7 starts have seen him allow more than 2 earned runs. beacy owns a 1.29ERA in his 2 starts at home in Atlanta, so we can rely on him for a solid performance here to get his team the win.
BETTING VERDICT
Miami has been involved in a fair few lowscorers when they are travelling. Of 21 road games, 14 have gone Under, thats 67% of their road games. I shall keep with that trend here.
The Pick :
Under 7.5 runs to be scored
BEST BETTING TIP :
Take Under 7.5 runs to be scored @ 1.85 (Pinnacle)
