2005-08-20 - Hull City vs Brighton
A Sports Betting Pick by MU4L
Hull and Brighton both come into the game with no wins, and 2 draws from their first 3 games this season.HULL CITY
Hull have made a slow start to life in the Championship, especially when compared against fellow promoted team Luton Town.
After making successive promotions in the last 2 season, they will be looking to walk before they can run in this division and this has led to tight games so far.
On the opening day they managed a 0-0 home draw with hard working QPR, and followed this up with a 1-1 draw at Sheffield Wednesday and then a 1-0 loss at Wolves.
Finding the goal has been a problem in the last few games, and while they play good football, without goals there can be no wins.
BRIGHTON AND HOVE ALBION
Brighton did well to survive last season, and will look to consolidate their position in the division in the coming season, but many pundits see them having another relegation scrap come the end of season.
They have found goals less of a problem than Hull, but have yet to pick up a clean sheet this season. They drew at Derby 1-1 on the opening day before Reading handed them a 0-2 home loss.
Last weekend, they had to come back from 1-2 down, after being 1-0 up, to grab a draw against Crewe. Mark McGhee was happy with the performance but disappointed they could not get all 3, and they are hoping for more goals in future in games they dominate.
TEAM NEWS
The team news shows that Hull have a little bit of an injury crisis on their hands.
Three players, Mark Lynch, Alton Thelwell and Robbie Stockdale are all definately out, while a further 3 players, Steve McPhee, Keith Andrews and Leon Cort, are all doubtful.
Brighton are likely to give starting berths to Federico Turienzo, Mark McCammon and Jake Robinson after all impressed ina reserve victory in midweek, and Leon Knight is likely to be employed in midfield.
HEAD TO HEAD
The H2H shows that Brighton have won the last 2 games against Hull, but its been around 4 years since their last meeting, and Hull have moved to their new stadium since then.
The Pick :
With the injury problems at Hull, and their lack of goals, I think Brighton will need to score a goal to prevent defeat here
