Cardiff and Hull have booked their spots in the Premier League for next season, and this Bank Holiday Monday game will decide who joins them in the top flight.
BETTING PREVIEW
I'm just not convinced by Crystal Palace, who have choked hard in the run up. Palace's end of season form left much to be desired, with just 2 wins in their last dozen matches, resulting in Hull squeezing past to win automatic promotion.
Even in the playoffs, Crystal Palace failed to make home advantage count and were held 0-0 by Brighton. The team lost striker Murray, and not many were giving them a chance in the 2nd leg away on the south coast.
I think their 2-0 win in Brighton was a result of the inspired performance of Zaha, thanks in no small part to Brighton taking them a bit lightly. The team have Zaha again, but Watford will be ready for him, and of course, Murray is still out. Where will the goals come from?
Watford weren't exactly flying at the end of the season but I saw more in them than in Palace. For starters, the goals can come from anywhere, and with options spread out.
Watford lost 2-1 at home on the last day of the season, in a game where they could have clinched automatic promotion, but they proved they could bounce back, winning 3-1 at home against Leicester City in a crazy finish to wipe out a 0-1 deficit.
That kind of result gives a team insane belief and it puts Watford in a great betting spot mentally.
THE BETTING VERDICT
I see this finishing 1-0 or 2-0 to Watford. I'll take a chance on the Hornets.
The Pick :
Crystal Palace 0-2 Watford
