Dutch EreDivision
2007-11-04 - Feyenoord vs De Graafschap
A Sports Betting Pick by Erik
The first bet of the weekend will be a medium sized double on Feyenoord and Ajax. Both teams will be playing at home and the double can be taken around $1.85 which seems a very decent price.Feyenoord
Feyenoord is currently on the third place in the ranking with the team collecting 21 points from their first nine games this season with the team losing two games so far on the road against PSV (4-0) and FC Twente (2-0).
With the team picking up four wins in their four home games so far this season without conceding a goal, Feyenoord knows an excellent home record in the Eredivisie and the team will be looking to extend this on Sunday when De Graafschap visits Rotterdam.
Last Thursday Feyenoord grabbed a 3-1 win over FC Groningen at home thanks to a hattrick from Makaay (att) in the first half with the striker once again proving to be working on an excellent season scoring five goals in the competition so far.
For the game against De Graafschap Feyenoord will miss Hofs (att) with a knee injury while the longterm injured Tiendalli (def), Vincken (def), Vlaar (def) and Ekramy (gk) will also remain sidelined.
De Graafschap
De Graafschap can definitely be called the surprise of the season with the team promoting into the Eredivisie last season and currently occupying the eighth place in the table with fourteen points from their last nine games.
The team has booked some impressive results this season winning on the road to FC Groningen (0-2) and drawing at home to FC Twente (0-0) and on the road to FC Utrecht (2-2).
Last week De Graafschap played twice in Kerkrade against Roda JC where the team lost 1-0 in the competition last Saturday and 3-2 AET in the Cup game on Wednesday.
In the last game De Graafschap grabbed a 0-2 lead, but the team had to concede a last minute equalizer in the second half with De Graafschap not able to recover from this blow in the extra time. Coach De Jonge will have the disposal of a fully fit selection with only Volmer (def) being doubtful with a calf injury.

Verdict
Booking some surprising results in the last two months, De Graafschap has showed not to be underestimated as newcomer in the Eredivisie and after the 1-8 defeat in their first game of the season against Ajax the team steadily has improved their performances.
However, with the team being on the eight place in the table De Graafschap has become a serious opponent for each team in the Eredivisie and Feyenoord certainly will not underestimate their opponent on Sunday.
The team from Rotterdam has an excellent home record so far and being supported by a very fanatic home crowd, playing in De Kuip always gives something extra for the players.
In their last home game in the competition Feyenoord beat Excelsior 1-0 thanks to a goal from Van Bronckhorst (def) twelve minutes from time and with the team dropping three points on the road to FC Twente (2-0) last week, the 3-1 win over FC Groningen last week was much welcomed.
With the team being given a small boost I can see Feyenoord come out with all guns blazing on Sunday to restore their confidence and preserve their perfect home record.
