Analysis:A.C Milan needs to win here when they travel to face Livorno if they are to keep their hopes of playing in the Champions League next season. The home side on the other hand are in the bottom three so needs the points here as well in order to escape from being relegated.
A.C Milan by their standards is having a miserable season as they are trailing fourth placed Fiorentina by four points and were knocked out of the Champions League by Arsenal. Milan are set to welcome back the likes of Daniele Bonera and Massimo Ambrosini who have completed their suspensions. ASmbrosini is expected to come back straight into the side to replace Cristian Brocchi.
Livorno on the other hand is drifting back towards relegation especially after a few poor home results. Also with teams such as Cagliari and Siena playing well and are climbing higher up the ranks, they find themselves moving closer to relegation now. In their last match they had to thank Alessandro Diamanti who scored against A.S Roma to rescue them a point and that could likely see him keep his place in the starting eleven keeping out Martin Bergvold.
Livorno are not only bad at home this season but they also have a poor record against A.C Milan coming into this fixture. Since being promoted to Serie A in 2004, they have only managed to win once against Milan and that came in January 2005 when Corrado Colombo scored for them. But A.C Milan have won on three times they have met including a 3-0 at the Stadio Picchi in December 2005. Last season though it ended in a goalless draw.
