Newmarket Racecourse, the largest racing venue in the United Kingdom,is located approximately 64 miles from London, 13 miles from Cambridge and 40 miles from Ipswitch. Racing at Newmarket can be traced back to the 1600s and the Newmarket area is renowned for horses and the all things equine (horse-related industries and interests). Newmarket Racecourse is also renown for it's special events which include 'Nights', popular evening meetings leading into music concerts.
HOW TO GET TO NEWMARKET RACECOURSE

The Newmarket racecourse is located on the Suffolk/Cambridgeshire borders, on the outskirts of the town centre and surrounded by training gallops and heathland. The A11 and A14 provide easy access from the major cities of East Anglia and from the M11 and A1 / M1 respectively.
By bus/coach: Shuttle services are available on race days. The service runs between Newmarket Town Centre, Cambridge Station and the course starting approximately two hours before the first race. Check the course web site for details.
By rail: Regular commuter services run from London Kings Cross and Liverpool Street to Cambridge, Stansted Airport and Ipswich where onward connections by rail or road can be made to Newmarket. National Express operate 'Travel and ticket' packages to the Newmarket races.
By air: Stanstead Airport is a 35 minute drive from the Course. Landing facilities at the course are available by prior arrangement.
