HOW TO GET TO THIRSK RACECOURSE
By road: Racecourse postcode for SAT NAV: YO7 1QL
1. From the south (A1), take the A168 at Dishforth. After 6 miles take the B1448 to Thirsk. At the mini-roundabout, turn left past Tesco and the racecourse is on the right.
2. From the north (A1) follow signs for Thirsk. Enter Thirsk from the west along the A61. The racecourse is on the left about half a mile past the railway station.
3. From Teesside, turn off the A19 for Thirsk, then go through the town centre, leaving on the A61 for Ripon. (Follow any specific signs for race traffic). At the mini roundabout beyond the town cente, turn right past Tesco and the racecourse is on your right.
4. From York (A19) go straight on at the first roundabout approaching Thirsk, then left at the second roundabout, through the town centre, as 3 (above).
5. From Scarborough (A170), keep straight on at the roundabout and follow signs Ripon (A61) through the town centre as 3 (above).
By rail:
Thirsk Station is half a mile from the course. There is a regular service direct from London, Sunderland, Manchester, Leeds, York and Middlesbrough. Additional services are available by changing at York (from the South) or Darlington (from the North).
By air: Helicopter landing facilities are available on the cricket pitch beside the course by prior arrangement.
Fixed wing aircraft can land at RAF Leeming (12 miles). Light aircraft can land at Bagby (3 miles)

The course is a left-handed flat oval track of approximately 1 mile 2 furlongs and 50 yards in length. The turns are easy and the ground well levelled all round. The Straight 6 furlong course joins the round course at the last turn. Draw Advantage: on straight course near either rail.
