The Racecourse is easily accessible by car from all major transport routes. From the A64 follow the A1036 (Tadcaster Road) north towards York City Centre and then along Knavesmire Road. There is ample free parking on Racecourse Road.
By rail: York train station is 2 miles from York Racecourse and taxis are available directly outside the station.

ADMISSION TO YORK RACECOURSE
County Stand admission prices range from £24 to £50 depending on the fixture.
Grandstand and Paddock admission prices range from £13 to £25 depending on the fixture
Course Enclosure admission prices range from £5 to £7 depending on the fixture.
Accompanied children under 16 free. Junior admittance fees apply for 17-22 year olds. Senior citizen admittance is also avialble at reduced prices. Please note: juniors and over 65s cannot be booked in advance but are available on the day, subject to proof of age.
Food and drink can only be taken into the Course Enclosure, where picnics are welcome

A flat wide, left-handed course of 2 miles with two bends and a straight run-in of over 4 ½ furlongs. 5 furlongs and 6 furlongs races are on a straight course. Since 2005, a track extension links the winning post to the back straight making it a 15 furlong round course.
