By road: The racecourse is just a few minutes from Epsom Town Centre on the B290 Epsom Downs Road or alternatively just off junction 9 of the M25. During the racing season, AA signs will mark all major approach routes
By rail: Epsom Station: Connection from London Waterloo & London Victoria. Take a 10 minute taxi or bus ride from the station.
Tattenham Corner Station. Aprroximately 1/2 mile walk to the racecourse.
Epsom Downs Station. Approximately 1 mile walk to the racecourse.
By air: Heathrow Airport is approximately 27 miles from the racecourse. Gatwick is approximately 18.5 miles from the racecourse.

Shaped like an elongated horseshoe, the present Derby Course of 1½ miles rises approximately 150 feet over the 1st half mile; one third of a mile on the top of the hill is practically level and as the course turns to the left the going is downhill to Tattenham Corner, from which point there is a gradual fall to the final sharp rise before the winning post approximately 50 feet above the Starting Gate. Draw Advantage: high numbers in 5 Furlong and 6 furlong events. Low numbers from 7 Furlong to 1¼ miles.
