The mile course at Salisbury racecourse is straight and flat with the exception of a rise for the first furlong. The 5 Furlong Course is the last 5 furlongs of the straight course and the 6 Fulong Course, the last six. For the 1 mile 6 furlongs, the hoirse start opposite the Club Enclosure and diverge to the left from the straight course, which they re-enter beyond the 6 furlong starting post.
