Fiorentina
Fiorentina’s season may come to a conclusion should they get ousted from the Champions’ League on Tuesday evening. Domestic matters are only worsening and the club has every chance to be left without European cups for the upcoming autumn. There is still the return fixture against Inter Milan in Coppa Italia, but the task of further progression is literally impossible.
Cesare Prandelli’s team suffered more misery on Saturday as another big disappointment of the season in Italy, Juventus, captured a thrilling 1-2 victory in Florence.
In the first game in Bayern La Viola looked nothing worse than their opponents and if it wasn’t for the Scandinavian refereeing Italians could have secured a positive result. At the end of the day, however, Fiorentina were left robbed by the last minute off-side goal by Miroslav Klose and an earlier red-card to Gobbi.
The latter has been, if I’m not wrong, disqualified for 3 games by the disciplinary committee.
Left wingback is just one of the many in the long list of unavailable players. Adrian Mutu, as we all know, is on the verge of ending his career as he faces yet another ban;

Bayern Munchen
Bayern remain top of the Bundesliga despite unnecessarily dropping points on the road against Cologne. Their main competitors – Bayer Leverkusen – suffered first loss of the season in Nurnberg and allowed Luis Van Gaal to hold on to the first spot.
Quite surprisingly German giants did not enjoy enormous advantage in the first game against Fiorentina. For most of the time Bayern looked too slow with the ball and clueless, if it wasn’t for inspirational Arjen Robben and Ovrebe, I doubt hosts would’ve gotten away with a win.
Poor efforts continued on the domestic front after the Fiorentina match. First came the unimpressive draw against Nurnberg 1-1 and then the latest disappointment in Cologne. Offensively something seems to be missing. Some specialists see a direct connection with Ribery’s return to the starting 11 and Ivica Olic’ drop to the bench.
Expected formation and line up :
Butt
Lahm, Van Buyten, Badstuber, Pranjic or Alaba
Robben, Van Bommel, Schweinsteiger, Ribery
Gomez, Muller

Betting advice
We have seen Liverpool do this twice: suffer on the domestic front and sparkle in the Champions' League.
Fiorentina is up against a far more difficult test here. But from what I have seen in the first match, Prandelli's team looks more complete to me then Van Gaal's.
With the home support behind them - La Viola could turn this tie in their favor.
