Lazio extended their unbeaten sequence in the Italian top flight in midweek with a solid 2-0 win away from home at Genoa to not only remain in 6th place in the Serie A table but also retained their place in the hunt for a possible top four finish and Champions League football next season.

Recent wins against Atalanta and Genoa in 1-0 and 2-0 victories respectively were both achieved away from home along with picking up useful points at home in draws with Torino and Roma, while the bigger picture shows Lazio have slipped to just a single defeat within their previous 11 games overall.

Monday night’s hosts have drawn each of their last four home games at the Stadio Olimpico but having lost just twice in their last 21 home games along with collecting 11 wins, Marco Baroni’s side will be desperate to return to winning ways in their own backyard.

Parma picked up only their second win in 15 matches in Serie A in midweek but nevertheless it was an impressive 1-0 home win against 5th placed Juventus which not only extended the visitors’ unbeaten run in the domestic top flight to six games, but also helped lift Cristian Chivu’s side six points clear of the relegation zone.

Recent stalemates with the likes of Torino, Monza, Verona, Inter Milan and Fiorentina suggest Parma may be a tough unit to break down at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday night but results away from home continue to let the visitors down.

Indeed, Parma have now failed to win any of their last 10 outings on the road in Serie A and having also failed to hit the back of the net on six occasions within this period, this could prove to be another tough night at the office for the away side.
