Heidenheim, having narrowly avoided relegation last season, are eager to build on their survival.

They enter this Bundesliga season with a solid pre-season, securing victories over Ingolstadt and Parma, and a dominant 0-5 win in the DFB Pokal against lower-league Bahlingen last weekend.

However, their squad remains largely unchanged, which may limit their ability to compete against higher-caliber teams.

Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg start this new season with a new coach – Paul Simonis. He is the fourth Dutchman to be the coach of Wolfsburg, but none of his three predecessors survived past one season.

Wolfsburg had a mediocre last season, finishing 11th. They currently do not look significantly stronger than last season, so I believe they will be stuck near mid-table again.
