Hamburger SV’s unbeaten run of three games ended last week with their 2-1 defeat to RB Leipzig. Still, their coach, Polzin, was satisfied with their performance and urged his players to keep going in the same way in the upcoming games.

Wolfsburg is almost of similar quality and record to them, so Hamburger SV have decent chances to get something out of this match.

Hamburger SV was excellent in their recent two home games, winning both against Heidenheim (2-1) and Mainz (4-0).

Positive team news for Hamburger SV is the return of their attacking midfielder, Fábio Vieira, who served his red card suspension.

Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg are in a big crisis. They had their worst performance of the season last week, losing 0-3 to VfB Stuttgart at home. It’s not just the loss itself, but how they lost it. They showed absolutely nothing during the game, not even the slightest will to do something.

There is some unrest in the team, and we do not yet know publicly what exactly is going on. Team captain Maximilian Arnold recently said that there are some dissatisfied players, but that they are dealing with it internally. That’s a sign that currently Wolfsburg is not a team to be backed fully, regardless of who they play against.

Wolfsburg is now winless in six Bundesliga games, losing all their last four games both at half-time and full-time.

So far, their only win in seven games came on the road, in the first match against Heidenheim (1-3).

Neither side looks good enough to fully trust them.

Hamburger SV has shown better displays so far. They were unbeaten in three (two wins) before losing to RB Leipzig last week, but even in that loss, they did not look bad.

Wolfsburg is in shambles, with four clear defeats and a poor team atmosphere. They have to win sometime, but I hope it won’t be on this trip.

Hamburger SV looks better to me, so I recommend backing them to win this home match at solid odds.
