A Sports Betting Preview by Auls

Burnley v Arsenal
Football: English Premier League
Saturday 1st November 2025 - Kick Off 3pm

Burnley

Before kick off, Burnley fans would have accepted a point away from home at potential relegation rivals Wolves, but Scott Parker and the team would have been really disappointed after blowing a 0-2 lead at Molineux. It felt like Burnley were hanging on, but a late counter attack saw the team score a late winner and earn a priceless three points, which could prove very important at the end of May 2026.

Fellow Promoted clubs Sunderland and Leeds United had already impressed last weekend and Burnley followed suit as they moved into 16th place in the Premier League table and onto 10 points for the season. The side have a 2-1-1 record at Turf Moor and will be looking to build on the momentum earned from a late winner, although Scott Parker will be well aware of the challenge coming up.

Burnley had lost 5 of 6 games played in all competitions, but wins over Leeds United and Wolves will have given everyone a huge shot of confidence. The only Premier League defeat suffered at Turf Moor came courtesy of a goal conceded deep into injury time against Liverpool, although Burnley's 2 wins have both been against the fellow Promoted clubs.

Connor Roberts, Jordan Beyer and Zeki Amdouni are long-term absentees, but the squad looks to have come through the win at Molineux without further issues.

Arsenal

Apparently it makes no difference what competition Arsenal play in and how many changes they make- this is a squad that is organised to keep clean sheets! The latest one has taken Arsenal through to the League Cup Quarter Final and the fans are unlikely to be paying much attention to the 'experts' who are suggesting the team are 'boring'.

Winning is never boring and Arsenal have moved 4 points clear at the summit of the Premier League after another weekend in which the expected main rivals faltered. The Gunners will conclude the schedule before the November international break with 3 away games in all competitions, but Arsenal will travel with confidence in the Premier League having put together a 3-0-1 record away from the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal keep winning games and pumping out the clean sheets- they have had 8 wins in a row in all competitions and conceded a single goal. They will head to the North West chasing a fifth straight away win in all competitions since losing 1-0 at Liverpool.

William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli are both doubts for this game. Huge changes were made to the starting eleven for the League Cup win over Brighton and Mikel Arteta should restore the key names.

Head to Head

Two seasons ago, Arsenal completed the Premier League double over Burnley.

Arsenal are unbeaten in 9 trips to Turf Moor in all competitions and have won 6 of those matches.

The last fixture between these clubs at this ground ended 0-5 in favour of Arsenal in February 2024.

Prediction

Scott Parker and his Burnley team are well aware that games against teams that are expected to finish in the bottom half of the Premier League table is where the points need to be earned to keep them in the top flight.

Credit has to be given to the team for the way they rallied to earn a priceless three points at Molineux last weekend which means Burnley have beaten Sunderland, Leeds United and Wolves this season.

From the opening nine Premier League games, you would have to say Burnley have perhaps picked up more points than they would have expected and so there will be a confidence around this team.

At the same time, Scott Parker will be well aware of the challenges of facing Premier League title favourites Arsenal, even if Burnley are hosting.

They did give Liverpool a lot of problems in a 0-1 home defeat earlier this season and Burnley's resilience deserves everyone's respect, but they have been well beaten at Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City. The underlying numbers also suggest Burnley have been struggling to create chances against the best teams and now they face what can be considered as one of the top defensive units in Europe, never mind England.

The layers understand that and Arsenal are odds on for another clean sheet this weekend.

Only one goal has been conceded during this 8 game winning run in all competitions and that defensive shape has made things all the more comfortable for Arsenal.

Some may consider them 'boring' but Mikel Arteta and the fans won't care about opinions when the only important matter is winning football matches.

This may not be the Arsene Wenger Arsenal of old, but they have been good enough in the final third and The Gunners have scored at least twice in 9 of the 14 games played in all competitions. They had reached that number in 3 straight away games before the 0-1 win at Fulham last month and Arsenal have players who can create chances in the final third.

Set pieces is another route to goal and Arsenal can keep the pressure on their main title rivals by securing a relatively comfortable win at Turf Moor. If Burnley give up the opportunities they have been in recent games, Arsenal can cover this Asian Handicap line at a slightly higher price than backing them to win with yet another clean sheet.

None of the 4 away Premier League games have been won by more than a single goal margin, but Arsenal have played at Old Trafford, Anfield, St James' Park and Craven Cottage in that time. This weekend represents a drop in level of opponent, which is no disrespect to Burnley, and Arsenal can make things a little more comfortable with a late goal to put a gloss on the final scoreline.
