English Premier
2025-11-22 - Brighton vs Brentford
A Sports Betting Preview by Auls
Football: English Premier League
Saturday 22nd November 2025 - Kick Off 3pm
Brighton
The top of the Premier League is pretty congested and so the focus for Fabian Hurzeler and his Brighton team is to put together some consistent results to propel themselves up the League standings. You do have to believe that failure to return to European Football would result in a change in manager and so there is pressure on Hurzeler to help the team put some strong results together.
They may be 11th in the Premier League table, but Brighton have picked up 16 points this season which means being only 6 points behind 2nd placed Manchester City. The next several weeks feel very important and The Seagulls will be looking to build on the 3-2-0 home record where they have scored 10 goals and conceded 5.
Brighton have won 1 of their last 4 games in all competitions, but they did battle for a goalless draw at Selhurst Park before the November international break. The recent setbacks have been away from home and Brighton will be looking for a third straight League victory at the Amex Stadium this weekend. Brighton are also now unbeaten in 9 at home in all competitions going back to last season.
Brajan Gruda, James Milner, Jack Hinshelwood and Kaoru Mitoma are all hoping to have used the international break to shake off injury and return to the match day squad.
Brentford
Key attackers may have been sold in the summer transfer window, but Igor Thiago has stepped forward to give Brentford fans a new talisman to support. Two more goals from the 24 year old helped Brentford beat Newcastle United 3-1 in the last Premier League game and manager Keith Andrews has ensured there has been no drop off at the club, despite the huge changes made in the summer.
Retaining Premier League status had to be the main ambition for Brentford ahead of the new season, but they have moved up into 12th place in the standings and with 16 points secured already following the victory over Newcastle United. They could challenge for European Football at the end of this season, but that would mean improving the 1-0-4 away record in the top flight.
Brentford have won 4 of the last 5 games played in all competitions, which has resulted in an improved spot in the Premier League table and a place in the League Cup Quarter Final. The majority of the best results have been earned at the Gtech Community Stadium and Brentford were beaten 2-0 at Crystal Palace in their most recent away Premier League game.
Kristoffer Ajer should be available for selection this weekend.
Head to Head
Brentford took four points from Brighton in the Premier League last season.
The game at the Amex Stadium finished goalless in December 2024.
Brighton are now unbeaten in 4 home games against Brentford and they have won twice in that time.
Prediction
Every time Brentford and Brighton face off, there has to be a real motivation in the boardroom to earn bragging rights, even if the owners are unlikely to speak about it.
Both are very well run clubs with similar philosophies and they sit next to one another in the League table with the same number of points.
Out of the two, Brighton have the bigger expectations in the 2025/26 season and they will be looking to make home advantage a key factor in the outcome of the latest meeting between the clubs.
Brighton have played well here this season and Brentford have yet to take their home form with them when they have travelled away from the Gtech Community Stadium. That feels important on Saturday out of the international break and Brighton do deserve to be set as favourites in this fixture.
The Seagulls have created a lot of good chances in home games played and they will be testing this Brentford backline.
Of course Keith Andrews and his team need to be respected considering how they have performed this season, but it is hard to ignore the contrast between the home and away results. They won at a then struggling West Ham United, but Brentford have been second best in away games at Crystal Palace and Fulham and they may find it difficult to contain this Brighton attack.
The layers are expecting goals and both teams will feel they can get forward and create chances.
However, the feeling is that Brighton will be the superior of the two on the day and they can edge to the three points in what should be an entertaining battle.
