Heidenheim got a sense of relief last weekend after finally winning 1-2 at Union Berlin, their first win in six games. They climbed to third from the bottom, a point behind safety, which could motivate them more in the upcoming games.

Last week’s match was Heidenheim’s fifth of the last six to end with three or more goals, so their games tend to be high-scoring.

Their home form needs improvement still. They are winless in three at home, most recently losing 0-3 against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Also, with only 10 goals scored in 12 games, Heidenheim is still the worst-attacking team in the Bundesliga.

SC Freiburg

SC Freiburg are slowly rising. They won two of their three Bundesliga games and advanced to the quarterfinals of the DFB Cup after beating SV Darmstadt 98 2-0 last midweek.

They are excellent at home but surprisingly poor on the road this season. SC Freiburg have won just once in their six away games, going winless in four. They had a 0-2 lead against Bayern Munich in their last away game, yet they lost heavily, 6-2.

Last season, SC Freiburg completed the double against Heidenheim, beating them twice without conceding, 0-3 away and 1-0 at home.

SC Freiburg looks better and plays better lately, although Heidenheim could now open up more, trying to surprise after winning last week.

Still, I think the quality will prevail in the end, with SC Freiburg recording a narrow away win at nice odds.
