The Major League Baseball Playoffs are always geared around teams winning in the ballpark and not having too many other factors separating teams and that means they will not have games played when they know rain delays or washouts are going impact them.

With that said, most believed Game 4 would be postponed on Friday and that was the case.

It also means the American League Championship Series will not have any more rest days between games and that will change the mindset of both the Tampa Bay Rays and Cleveland Guardians. Sunday was supposed to be a travel day, and may have allowed the teams to use relievers in a different way than they are going to be able to do with no rest days left.

On Saturday, the Tampa Bay Rays will be going with Nick Martinez, but the starter is someone they will want to keep an eye on after late season struggles. He also gave up two runs while failing to get out of the 4th Inning against the New York Yankees in the Divisional Round, but Nick Martinez will take some confidence from the fact he threw 13 Innings against the Cleveland Guardians without giving up a run against them in two regular season starts.

Nick Martinez needs to try and get through the batting line up at least a couple of times if the Tampa Bay Rays are going to level up the Series having dropped Game 3, although they will also be confident in being able to turn this over to the bullpen when needed. That confidence will come from the fact that the Rays are going back into the front of the starting rotation, who can almost certainly give them multiple Innings.

It is going to be a bullpen game for the Cleveland Guardians, which was the plan before Game 4 was postponed.

They will go back to the top of the starting rotation beginning on Sunday, but the Guardians have been happy with the way the relievers have performed.

Shawn Armstrong is going to begin as the opener and he will be expecting this Cleveland team to continue displaying the rhythm that has been picked up by the batting lineup. That lineup has not been as effective at home as they have been on the road, while the Guardians will have something to prove against the Tampa Bay starter.

Prediction

It was a back and forth Game 3 that ended with the Cleveland Guardians on top, but the Tampa Bay Rays have fought back all season.

The Number 1 Seed may feel the starter can go a little longer than he did in the Divisional Round and that may give the Rays the momentum needed to level things up again.

This is going to be another game that is decided by really fine margins, but the Rays may have what it takes to edge to the win.
