Arsenal v Everton
Football: English Premier League
Saturday 24th October 2026 - Kick Off 3pm

Arsenal

Mikel Arteta will have taken plenty of positives from the Arsenal performance in Bavaria in the Champions League during the week, although the injury suffered by Bukayo Saka is a blow for his squad. Others are going to have to step up to keep Arsenal ticking forward in their bid to retain the top flight title for the first time since 1935.

The battling win at the City Ground last Sunday means Arsenal are 2nd in the Premier League table and still 3 points behind early pacesetters Manchester City. The Gunners return home this weekend where they do have a 3-0-0 record in the top flight having scored 7 goals and conceded 2.

Arsenal returned from the international break to win 3 games in a row in all competitions before the 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich this past Wednesday. They have won the last 8 games at the Emirates Stadium in all competitions and Arsenal have scored at least twice in all 4 games here this season.

Bukayo Saka is set for a spell on the sidelines, which should mean at least missing the remaining games before the November international break and potentially longer. He joins Christos Tzolis and William Saliba in the treatment room, while Piero Hincapie is another doubt.

Everton

There will have been plenty of disappointment around Hill Dickinson Stadium after Everton's defeat to Chelsea ended the unbeaten start to the season. The game could have turned if Morgan Rogers had been sent off in the first half, but the referee chose to avoid that punishment and Everton were pretty well beaten by the end of the ninety minutes.

It is a defeat that drops Everton down into 8th place in the Premier League table having earned 10 points so far this season. The Toffees have a 0-3-0 away record in the top flight and have scored and conceded 3 goals in those games.

Everton had been unbeaten in 8 games in all competitions before the defeat to Chelsea last weekend, while it is a result that means they have secured just 2 wins from the last 7. They will travel to North London knowing they have not won any of the last 8 away Premier League games played, although Everton have drawn 5 of those.

A full squad is set to head down to the capital for this Saturday afternoon kick off.

Head to Head

Arsenal completed the Premier League double over Everton last season.

The Gunners are now unbeaten in 5 when hosting Everton and have won 4 of those matches.

Prediction

The overall start to this season will be pleasing for Mikel Arteta and the Arsenal supporters, although the manager will be aware that his team still need to find a bit more consistency in the final third.

It is an issue that has perhaps been more of a problem away from home after the battling 0-1 win at Nottingham Forest last weekend, but Arsenal have been more comfortable in front of the home supporters.

The injury picked up by Bukayo Saka is a blow, especially with Christos Tzolis also absent, but Arsenal fans will still expect a positive result when hosting Everton. It will not have been lost on those fans that Arsenal have managed to score at least twice in all 4 games played at the Emirates Stadium this season and they have won 4 of the last 5 when hosting The Toffees.

Of course the challenge for Arsenal is finding the right energy having travelled back from Munich after a Champions League game on Wednesday.

This is at the same time Everton will have been resting and getting ready to bounce back from a poor loss to Chelsea last weekend and with a fully fit squad ready to travel.

However, Everton have not won any of the last 8 away Premier League games and they are a team that will look to be resilient when playing away from Hill Dickinson Stadium. They showed that in battling draws already this season, but Everton may find it tough to breach an Arsenal defence that kept two clean sheets against them last season.

Arsenal have not put the run of clean sheets together that fuelled their run to the Premier League title and Champions League Final last season, but the defensive numbers remain strong. They do not give up a lot of chances at home and the manager may be reminding his players that they need to make sure of their efforts defensively without a couple of key attackers to rely upon.

The layers look to have gotten most of the prices about right, while the Asian Handicap line is not an easy one for Arsenal to clear without the likes of Saka and Tzolis.

Instead, backing Arsenal to beat Everton with another clean sheet looks appealing having done so twice last season.

Arsenal have conceded just once in the last 4 home games against Everton and they do feel like a team more likely to win 1-0 than 3-1 right now.

David Moyes will set his team up to frustrate, but Arsenal have tended to find a bit of class to open up a big chance or two and they can do the same in this Premier League fixture.
