BLACKPOOL
They should be deep in the relegation zone right now, but this lot clearly haven't read the script. Blackpool are in 9th place, in the top half, and loving every minute of every game they play. And it shows.
The hosts won their first game of the season, beating West Brom 2-1 here, which is saying something seeing as Albion embarrassed Arsenal at the Emirates not long ago, along with making life hell for a lot of other teams. It would take a brave man to bet against them at home here, with what they're capable of when things go their way.
Blackpool are priced at 4.50 and that is surely way too high for a team that is springing upsets left right and center. Take a small bite of that if you like value but my main bet will be all about the goals here as Blackpool always make a game of any match they play in, while their style of football makes them susceptible to conceding.
EVERTON
Unbeaten through their last 5 matches, Everton are in 8th, sitting right above Blackpool and will hope to still maintain that position at the very least when the clock strikes 5pm. The Toffees come into this one on the back of a hard fought 1-0 win over Stoke City, and with that win against Liverpool not long ago, surely this is a team going through a bit of a good patch.
Tim Cahill is the one to watch here, I reckon. In fact, I'd have a punt on him to score. Surely he will. He's done it too many times this season and is the main danger every time Everton play.
Everton seem to have found their scoring boots of late, which has led to 3 wins in their last 4 matches. That's not about to make me take the laughable price on the away win, but at least I'm confident Everton can do their bit in sending this one over.
BETTING VERDICT
The verdict is goals goals and more goals. But I'll settle for a goal, another goal, and perhaps just one more. I don't ask for much.
