Introduction :
This is the opening match of the Dutch Eredivisie and the match of the round is this local derby between Vitesse and Ajax. In the Dutch Cup they managed to reach the quarter finals. Now their aim for the new seaosn is to once again get into the Europa League. They kept faith with Manager Slutski but the likes of stopper van der Werff, as well as Odegaard and Buttner has departed the team. The players who left the team are Tannane, Bazoer and Grot.
Ajax Amsterdam
Ajax won one trophy when they captured the Suprt Cup at the start of the season beating their biggest rival PSV. The win showed Ajax strength for the new season although the likes of de Ligt and de Jong have departed the side, which no doubt will be a big loss to them. The new players that came into the side are the likes of Promes, Marin, Alvarez and Martinez.
They beat PSV by 2-0 despite not fielding their strongest side. Players such as Mazraoui and Tagliafico did not play as well as Schone and Ziyech. From their newcomers, the likes of stopper Martinez, midfielder Marin and striker Promes did play. Now we can expect to see their strongest team take to the field.
